Patrick Downey is a landscape photographer born and raised in the Acadia National Park area of Maine. His photos have been published in various national magazines and he has won numerous awards for his work, including honorable mention in Outdoor Photographer Magazine’s premier photo contest “The American Landscape”. Patrick travels extensively to scenic areas of the U.S. for photography work but always returns to his home state of Maine.

“A shooting location in the Winter looks entirely different than in the Summer months, and that dynamic is what keeps me motivated to get out and pursue the craft.” Patrick also credits his 20+ years of working in the woods of Maine as a Land Surveyor as an integral part of his success. “I spent 8+ hours a day for many years huddled over a tripod doing land surveys, so when I started developing my photography skills shooting from a tripod felt very natural to me.” When Patrick is not shooting, he enjoys spending family time with his girlfriend and her five year old daughter.
